'drawn to the sky'

initially these photographs were untitled......but more and more it became clear that the swings are connected to the sky as it were....

they are double exposures of the same playground in berlin seen from different perspectives...

since june i have been in berlin, re-visiting my first home after romania...searching for exhibition spaces for the visionforum project.

i first landed here in 1990, after hitchiking illegaly through europe, a genuine refugee from the freshly collapsed communist regime.

20 years later i am back here searching for memories, now partially erased, of the city i knew.

i feel these photographs are like memories, somewhat fantastic and surreal, evocative of innocence lost, of a time and of a place, irrevocably altered.
